Flower Fields

The Flowers Fields is the only commercial ranunculus field in the world that is open to the public. The nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in a full bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year - from early March through early May - literally bringing the famous fields back to life.

The Village

The Carlsbad Village is made up of European villages I've been to, where everything is a short walking distance away. Its many antique stores and boutiques, sidewalk cafes and romantic hotels are all also just a short walk to the beach.

Jazz in the Park

Beginning sometime in June, live jazz bands play free to the public on Friday evenings throughout the Carlsbad park system. Concerts are held in Stagecoach, Poinsettia, and Calavera Hills parks. The free concerts, a favorite summertime activity for Carlsbad families, are sponsored by the Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office. The concerts take place every Friday at 6 p.m. through August. More than 3,000 concert goers are expected at each show.

Carlsbad Triathlon

The Triathlon ranks in the World's top 5 Longest Running triathlons. The course begins at Tamarack Surf Beach, and follows the coastline of Carlsbad, past our scenic beaches, lagoons and wildlife preserve. It boasts a calm ocean swim, a rolling bike course and a smooth run for the finish. The event has the continued presence of internationally recognized 2000 Olympic Silver medalist Michellie Jones, a two-time winner of the Carlsbad Triathlon and the 2003 Men's Elite Champ Luke Makenzie. .

The Aviara Golf Course is located north of San Diego overlooking the Batquitos Lagoon in Carlsbad. The course includes a driving range and an oversized practice putting green.

Legoland

At LEGOLAND® California there are more than 50 incredible rides, shows and attractions to choose from. The 128-acre park has replicated notable architectural structures from New York City, New England, Washington, D.C., New Orleans and California. Many of the scenes are animated. Visitors can watch Lego bricks being manufactured.
